
David T. Brown, 65, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021, after a courageous battle with COVID-19 at LGH, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Harry D. Brown Jr. and Elizabeth F. (Dorwart) Brown. He was the loving husband of Debra (Hilt) Brown with whom he shared over 44 years of marriage.
He was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and later went onto attend Harrisburg Area Community College and Penn State University. David enjoyed a 26-year career with the Lancaster City Police Department, serving as a patrolman, Officer Friendly within the city schools and finished his career as a detective in the Juvenile Division. After retiring from Lancaster City, Dave served as an instructor of Law Enforcement and Forensics at Dauphin County Technical School for 18 years. Throughout both of Dave’s careers, he was well loved by the kids and made a huge impact on their lives.
He was the most selfless, caring, and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother who was the rock that held the family together. He enjoyed playing golf, spending time at the beach with his family, watching his grandchildren at their sporting events, and treasured the simple times with family and friends. He was such a funny, good guy, providing daily laughter for his wife…..funniest guy she knew!
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Jason D. Brown, husband of Gretchen of Lancaster, two daughters, Melanie B. Drennen of Millersville, Lindsey A. Salsbury, wife of Lee of Lancaster; 6 grandchildren, Dylan, Natalie, Molly, Morgan, Nathan and Will; three sisters, Barbara Bishop, wife of Gary of Lancaster, Janice Sangrey, wife of Barry of Lititz, Diane Little, wife of Michael of AR and loving brother-in-law, Bob Hilt of Ephrata and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

The David T. Brown Memorial Scholarship will be utilized in the furtherance of current High school Seniors who attend Dauphin County Technical Schools, Emergency services shop (formally known as Criminal Justice), on going education. Mr. Browns legacy to mold and encourage youth will continue to thrive and live with the donations received.

Dauphin County Technical School Seniors Awards Day
May, 28, 2021
The First Recipient of The David T. Brown Memorial Scholarship will be announced at the Dauphin County Technical School Awards ceremony on May 28, 2021. The recipient chosen, will have to have met certain criteria. Gpa of 3.0 or above, Fill out application and Submit essay answering a few short questions.

Spanish Food Meal Drive
Pre order due July 26th
Mr. Brown was a huge Spanish food fan! He would get so excited when my best friend and classmate John use to bring him Spanish food. In his honor and to raise funds for The Memorial Scholarship, I am having a Spanish food drive. Pre orders are due July 26th, 2021 and you can pay via the donate button. All meals are $10 dollars. Once you donate the $10 dollars, email crespoedwin90@gmail.com with food choice and indicate delivery or pick up. Meal pick up and delivery will be August 1st, 2021.FOOD:-Choice of white rice or yellow rice with peas-beef empanada with or without cheese - fried plantains -choice of fried pork chop or chicken with sauce.

It is with great honor to present The 1st place 1000.00 scholarship to Hally B. and 2nd place 500.00 scholarship to Rosalina. Both students met the criteria’s put in place and are formally accepted Into their perspective secondary education institutions. Congratulations to the recipients it was an honor to present these scholarships. It was amazing to see how much the school has changed (for the better) and all the programs and extracurricular activities they now offer that I didn’t have back in 2008. Way to go DCTS!
